Crop Cards

Just wanted to post a few of the cards I created forThe Scrapping Bug's crop. The online crop was a blast and the challenges really forced me out of my box.  I even used some of my old stash! We're talking UNOPENED packages of Thickers and chipboard stickers *blush*

Here are a few of the cards:

And a LO:

Have a great weekend!

Card Share - Hero Arts, Echo Park

Time for a quick card share!

Here's a card featuring the new Hero Arts stamp I scored. I added some Stickles to his eyes & belly.
Isn't he a cutie?!?

Here's a card I did for the Scrapping Bug's February manufacturer challenge. Helen asked us to create a card or LO with Echo Park. I used the Victoria Gardens collection for my card.

Hope you had a great weekend!!

Card Share

The weekend is almost here, and I am super excited because mine is going to be a very scrappy one! Cropping with the "girls" (you know who you are) Saturday. Then heading to Scrapbook Centrale on Sunday for the Hero Arts 2012 release party!

Quick card share! I picked up the Kaiser "Bonjour" paper pad before the holidays and ended up making quite a few cards, including this one.  I added some pearls, a flower cabochon and some tulle for a bit of flair.

Have a great weekend!

Card Share & Etsy Finds

Hope your week is off to a good start!

I spent a bit of time crafting yesterday. I finished 5 cards, but my creative juices were just not flowing. It just seems that when I have the time to create, my mojo goes missing.  Here's one of the cards, which is actually not my typical colour/theme. I think it will be a cute card for a little boy.

I also spent some time on Etsy this weekend. There are so many listings it's hard to weed through all of them to find the gems! I use the "favourite" function to keep track of my fave items & shops. Sometimes I think, "I could make that!". Other times, not so much ;P.

Some of my current faves:

Are you an Etsy fan?  Do you browse, buy, sell?

A Mist of Positivity

Classes are very dangerous for my wallet. When I try out new techniques I usually end up buying a lot of the products used in the class. The last class I took at my local LSS (local scrapbooking store) was no exception. The product? Glimmer mists!

I have about 12 colours but haven't really practiced with them. So, I whipped a bottle out last week just to see what the results would be. I think the thing that bugs me the most is that I have a vision of how I want the "blotches" to look but can't seem to make it happen on a card. It does, however, work GREAT when I practice on scrap paper. Go figure.

I added some dark blue mist to the card below. For the background, I just inked up an alpha/numeric stamp set that was still on its original plastic backing.

What's the one technique you'd like to master one day?

Queen of Clubs Card

This card was created at the Scrapfest Oshawa crop in October/11. I attended with some friends and it was a ton of fun. We are already planning our next trip...CKC Buffalo here we come.

Here is a close-up:

Materials: Kaiser Timeless 6x6 paper, vintage pattern, Hero Arts sentiment, MME brad, pearl strands and sheer ribbon (unknown).

Thanks for looking.

Last day...

It's my last day of vacation ... back to work tomorrow!
So, I decided to try my hand at making a light tent so that I can take better pics of my cards. Given my camera is kaput, the shot below was taken with a phone camera.

I think brighter lightbulbs are called for; these eco friendly things don't give off much light. What do you think? Any tips?
